Write for VEJ
The theme for the December Issue of VEJ is “The infinite Power of Code.”
This December 8 – 14, 2014 is slated to be the largest learning event in history [hourofcode.com]. Last year, this global event touched tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries. More than 100 organizations worked together to create “The Hour of Code” event for anyone, anywhere ages 4 – 104.
This issue of VEJ will be released right before the 2014 Hour of Code Event. We hope you will share the coding you have done with your students and/or your Hour of Code plans for this year’s event. We are especially interested in how students are learning and using coding in games and/or virtual worlds. How does coding improve student literacy skills? How do teachers align coding instruction to the CCSS? How can we engage and encourage girls to get involved with coding? VEJ is also interested in articles that explain how 3D virtual environments (in school as well as outside of school) are preparing students to become successful digital citizens and global entrepreneurs. And, as always, we are interested in how teachers are instructing differently as classrooms morph from traditional 19th century learning to digital classrooms of the future.
Please submit articles, approximately 500 – 1800 words (in Cambria 14pt) and the highest resolution possible for photos (png, tiff, jpeg) to firstname.lastname@example.org
